Cheryl Skoog Tague

Cheryl Tague is a Principal and Founder of the Core Home companies. Cheryl's approach to building is hands on where her team is responsible for the design and execution of the property under development.  She also searches for properties for specific client briefs and for development. Cheryl has performed all aspects of a design build landscape and furnish from design development, drafting construction documents, landscape design, landscape installation and maintenance, onsite construction management, contract negotiations, budget analysis, furniture and textile design and interior design.  She is an avid student of classical architecture, the fine and decorative arts and the building arts through the promotion of the traditional crafts of building.

Cheryl founded her design business in 1996, changing course from a successful career in finance, with an MBA and a CPA.  She graduated with highest distinction from the New York School of Interior Design.  Currently based in New York and Connecticut, Cheryl lived and worked in London for nearly a decade.  This international experience had a profound impact on her ideas about sustainability, architectural heritage, and how we can build and live smarter.

She is a Certified Interior Designer and a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers.  Cheryl is also a member of The Decorators Club of New York, the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, and the National Advisory Board of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.  She holds a certificate in classical architecture from the ICAA.  Her work has been published in Veranda, Westchester/CT Cottages & Gardens, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, and Home & Antiques.
